Check to see if they are working - Detours
AVOID TRAFFIC DELAYS - 08/30/24. Please check for bridge construction and if they are working, ues one of the detours I have previously posted. Here's a site to check regarding the Bridge Construction between exit 42 & 44. Some nights they are there, some nights they are not. This could take the guesswork out of it. The detours I posted can help.

*Avoiding I-91 Bridge Construction Traffic - Last Friday there was no construction on the bridge. I have no idea what determins whether they are working on it or not. My guess ... the possibility of rain ... SO ... FIRST, check your GPS/Highway Traffic Site to see if there even is a traffic issue before you head down. Some nights they are not out there. Especially if it is raining.

- If you are heading south on I-91, get off at exit 47(Rt-190) and head west across the Connecticut River into Suffield. Take left on Rt-159 South (Approx 7&1/2 Miles). That will eventually turn into South Main St. Take right on Dexter Ave to Polish Home.

Take Exit Number 37 (Rt 305) Bloomfield Ave. Head east (Right off exit) to Route 75(About 1 mile). Take right onto Rt75 for about ½ mile to Rt-159. Left on Rt-159 (Palisado Ave). This is the same Rt-159 you get on when you exit the highway at Exit 42. Pass under the highway and Dexter Ave will be about ½ mile on left.
Both of these alternate routes will add less than 10 minutes to your drive, and you will avoid a hell of a lot of traffic.
