****Friday 02/28/2020 Special Night****

Johanna Barnes

How much do you want to improve as a dancer ... and how quickly do you want to get to that level? 02/28/2020 we will find out.
Special guest instructor … Johanna Barnes

Anybody who has been to one of my classes has heard me say that I firmly believe the reason those
of us in the C&W Dancers, who learned WC Swing in the late 80's & early 90's, learned this dance
so quickly and leaped right to the top levels, is because we all learned line dancing first ... when it
was big and in every bar & club in the area.

We already knew Tripple Steps, Tap Steps, Spins & Turns, "BALANCE", Direction changes,
Footwork, Kick-Ball-Change, Sailor Shuffle, and a variety or other often used dance techniques.
All we had to do is learn to lead & follow, and in some cases ... anchor steps. The foundation
for dancing was already there.

Over the years ... top instructors like Jo Thompson, Michael Kiehm, Robert Royston & others
developed line dances specifically designed with West Coast Swing in mind.

Enter Johanna Barnes ... Things you might not know: Johanna began line and couples dancing in 1994.
She has learned more than a dozen rhythms of dance as well as thousands of line dances; has
many popular line dances of her own, and choreography recognized as classics
world-wide (socially and used as competition selections).

She has two UCWDC World Championship titles, as well as being awarded hundreds of other top placements
in line dance, original line dance choreography, two-step, west coast swing, and 7 other couples dance
formats (especially ProAm, ProAm Spotlight, and Jack & Jill). She spent nearly 4 years competing with
Robert Royston and another 2 with Gregory Scott (& Lemery) Rollins. She's been an instructor, competitor, and social
dancer throughout North America, and abroad, including Ireland, Scotland, England, Canada, Wales, and special
invitations to Norway, and Finland.

On 02/28/2020, ... 8PM ... Johanna will be teaching a West Coast Swing based line dance
at the Polish Home in Windsor Locks, CT. What's great about this is you can practice it at home ... without
a partner ... or anybody criticizing or "Teaching" on the dance floor (Meaning unsolicited advice from people
who don't know any more than you ... sometimes less).

You will be amazed how quickly your level of expertise will rise. Johanna will also be DJ'ing for as long
as she chooses. She has an interesting collection of music from USA and overseas.
