   I'd like to try something a little different this time around. Too often there is no time between workshops to practice and then retain the moves we just learned in the previous hour. This night we are going to put a 1/2 hour of dancing between the workshops, for just that reason ... Practice and retain. Due to the relatively short notice, there is no pre-registration. Just show up ... No partner required. Also, there is no “True beginner” lesson this night
 
Saturday 10/06/07 – 2 workshops and a dance

Novice/Intermediate Hustle -  6:30-7:30 PM
1/2 Hour Dancing and Practice - 7:30-8:00 PM
Intermediate/Advanced Hustle – 8:00-9:00 PM
9:00PM-Midnight - Hustle Dance - Pizza around 10:30PM
 
   The music for tonight's dance will be Hustle, and what I refer to as "Swustle" (Contemporary music suitable for West Coast Swing and hustle). Later in the night we'll mix it up a little, but the music thru out the night will be 70-80% Hustle
 
Both lessons and dance - $30 - One lesson and Dance - $20 - Dance Only - $12

   For those of you who do not know Erik, he is nationally top-ranked competitor, who most recently made it through 3 rounds of auditions to appear on the televised revival of Dance Fever.  He has also appeared on the "Today Show" where he took First Place in a televised hustle contest.  In the past years, Erik has won 1st Place in the Professional Classic division at Mid Atlantic Dance Jam in Baltimore, Pacific Hustle & Salsa Dance Classic in San Francisco and Hustle USA in New Jersey. In the summer of 2004, Erik was the guest teacher for over 500 people at Midsummer Night Swing at Lincoln Center featuring the Big Bad Voodoo Daddies.
   Erik has been competing in West Coast Swing since 1998. In that time, he has risen to compete in the Invitational division. He has placed top-10 at the US Open in the Classic Division three  times and has excelled in Strictly Swing and Jack & Jill competitions at numerous national events.  Erik is also an outstanding follower.  Anyone who has seen him follow in a Jack & Jack competition knows that there is nothing he can't (or won't) do. His 18-year background in ballet, jazz, modern, musical theater and tap is evident in his avant-garde routines, creative social dances, and expert teaching style.
Erik crossed over into Hustle in 2000 and immediately rose to the top by winning 1st place in the Professional Classic Division at Hustle USA 2001, a feat that he also repeated in 2002 to make him a reigning 2-year champion. For more information on Erik, go to his website www.swingshoes.net
